Social media is no longer the preserve of the communications department. It touches all parts of your organisation, from talent management to business intelligence, customer service, sales and brand reputation.

This seminar will allow you an understanding of how social media can fit into your organisational structure and having processes to help you navigate that path make can make positive changes to your business.


This workshop will help you to understand:

  • How to determine who has ownership of social media
  • How to map your business touchpoints
  • Where you should start implementing social media practice
  • What guidance is available to enable staff to use this medium effectively

Led by Guardian digital strategist Tiffany St James, the seminar aims to answer these questions and more, giving you an audience-engagement strategy that helps achieve your business, project and campaign objectives.

This seminar is led by:

Tiffany St James, Director of Stimulation Ltd - Chair

Tiffany is the former Head of Public Participation for the UK Government, the first role of this kind in the UK. She was responsible for ensuring the UK government made measurable progress in how it engaged with the public online in order to deliver better public services.

She launched data.gov.uk working with Cabinet Office and Sir Tim Berners-Lee and was the first Communications Director of Direct.gov.uk.

Tiffany currently serves as a digital strategist for AEGON, Channel 4, The Guardian and Microsoft embedding organisational digital capability as well as speaking on technology and social media internationally, training and curating digital expert panels.

She helped launch advertising's first managed service social media lab for EURO RSCG earlier this year.

Tiffany advises The Speaker of the House of Commons on Public Engagement to make the House and democracy matter more to people today and is an Executive Director of the British Interactive Media Association.

She launced SoAmpd providing social media integration for live events.
