How to Escape Into Meaningful Work
Monday, 1 July 2013 from 19:00 to 21:00 (BST)
London, United Kingdom
Here at Escape the City we often hear from people who want to find meaningful work but have absolutely no idea where to start or how to turn their dreams into reality.
This evening is for you if you:
- Want to escape a traditional career;
- Have no idea what the alternative looks like;
- Dream of work that is meaningful and has positive social impact;
- Want to figure out how to get from here to there;
- Need help with defining your sweet spot where passion overlaps with professional talents and networks.
Escape Evenings are informal social evenings designed to get you connecting with other Escape members and to get inspired by interesting speakers.
Introducing Rosie Walford
Rosie transported her skills to non profits, social entrepreneurs and campaigning organisations where she worked as consultant, coach and facilitator, part time. Then, seeing the values gap between people in the corporate and social sector, she launched The Big Stretch (a creative coaching retreat in the mountains) which helps individuals define their purpose and put it into action with autonomy and passion.
At the same time, Rosie consults with some huge multinationals to help senior leaders put values, creativity and social/ environmental impact at the heart of their strategy. She teaches and coaches worldwide.
In parallel, she is a columnist for the New Zealand Herald and occasional photojournalist for the Guardian, a way to pursue her own passions for travel, biodiversity and yoga. She moved from central London and now lives on a subtropical island off NZ and has led an expedition of 12 people and 24 horses in the Chilean Andes.
