Each year, the founders and leaders of all HUBs in the global network come together to discuss and debate their achievements, challenges and global impact at the annual HUB Association Gathering. In April 2013, this event will be hosted across four days by the London HUBs: HUB Islington, HUB King's Cross and HUB Westminster.
This year, HUB London is gathering Hub leaders to share insights with our wider stakeholders from across the social, civic and impact sectors. On 17th April 2013, we invite you to join us for the HUB Insights Gathering - a unique one-day event where the global network of HUB founders & makers can meet with members, partners and friends for practice-led conversations about the challenges of scaling up social impact at this moment in time.
This is your invitation.

15.10-18.30 : Panels
Panel A (Rise of the Social Corporate Venture, Hub Making or Networks of Change)
Panel B (Rise of Impact Money & Civic Movement Builders)

21.00 - close
Keynote speakers include:
1. Civic Movement Builders : Civic movements and organising for impact in the 21st C
Leading civic ventures are using new tactics to achieve massive impact in the 21st century by seeing themselves as movements. What are the different strategies they deploy and common infrastructures they build? What challenges do they face? What does this mean for how the Hub and its members need to evolve locally and globally?
2. Rise of Impact Money : The state of impact investment in the UK
The UK has been seen as a leading player in the social & impact investment sector, but practice elsewhere is rapidly developing. What’s the state of play in the UK and what lessons does it hold for innovation elsewhere? Can we learn both from success and struggle? And what should the UK learn from experiences elsewhere?
3. HUB Making: What does it take to make a HUB - and to share lessons smartly
The Hub network has grown from 1 in 2005 to over 36 up and running now. Interest is growing across the public, private and third sector to learn from the model. In this session, Hub makers, partners and friends share insights and perspectives on what it takes to make a Hub - and reflect on how lessons can actually best be shared.
4. Education : How do we nurture system builders and changemakers today?
There has been growing and demonstrable changes in attitude to both education and entrepreneurship. Should the learning tools for social businesses and 21C systems of change be based on traditional business approaches? Emergent models of learning are happening now that challenge this and we will hear about some of their experiences from the frontline.
Speakers include Paul Miller (School of Everything / Bethnal Green Ventures), Max Oliva (Teamlabs & HUB Madrid), Filipe Santos (INSEAD) & Marc Ventresca (Said Oxford Business School), chaired by Indy Johar (HUB Westminster)
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Networks of Change and Corporate Social Venture panels have been cancelled.
Attendees to the event will include Hub founders and makers, HUB members, invited speakers, collaborators, partners and friends from the local and global Hub community. We are extending invitations to those seeking to explore and learn about the Hub network.
