Event Details

For the first time, The Salvation Army is planning a creative arts and music event specifically for young people with learning difficulties and/or additional needs!

I AM+ starts at 10am where the I AM + team will meet you at the entrance, welcome you and do registration.

We will open with some Creative Worship and then you can take part in workshops including art and drama.

After lunch we will work together to produce an arts and drama piece which you can share with your families at the end of the day.

Sale Corps is a great place to be! We can offer extra spaces and things to do if you need a break from the main sessions including a sensory space.

Your parents or friends that have brought you also have a space to relax while you are taking part in this Creative Arts day or they can go off and come back to see you later.

If you have brothers or sisters they will also have a place to meet while you take part in I AM+.

Here is an outline programme so you can see how the day will run although it may look a little different on the day:

ALOVE UK: The Salvation Army for a New Generation

Who we are
ALOVE UK is The Salvation Army for a new generation - an expression of The Salvation Army for young people and young adults.
As The Salvation Army's national youth office, we are responsible for the implementation of The Salvation Army's national youth work strategy for the UK and Republic of Ireland.
We work with young people (primarily aged 12-25), youth workers and youth focused services within and external to The Salvation Army.
ALOVE UK is part of the 'Programme Service' - a department of The Salvation Army's national head office.
About our name
In 2004 The Salvation Army adopted the made-up word 'ALOVE' to represent 'a love' and commitment to young people that's alive, aware and 'all out'.
Basically - we want to say to young people that The Salvation Army is committed to living out and representing ‘a love' that is unconditional, gracious, serving, compassionate, radical and audacious; a love motivated by the Christian faith, lived out in humility and service to others.
The work of ALOVE UK is facilitated by a national team and 18 regional youth officers. The roles within our national team are described below. You can also contact the ALOVE UK office for their contact details (and those of your nearest regional youth officer).
