‘Collective Intelligence: the next great challenge’

What’s the talk about? With technology becoming more advanced by the second, it’s never been easier to share ideas and information. But technology has done much less to improve judgement and wisdom. In this talk, Geoff Mulgan CBE casts the spotlight on two hotbeds of intelligence - universities and cities – and how they may work together to advance knowledge in its widest sense.

Speaker biography: Geoff Mulgan CBE is the Chief Executive of Nesta (National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts), which is an independent charity supporting innovation in the UK. Over the course of his illustrious career, Geoff has led various roles in the UK government including director of the Government's Strategy Unit and head of policy in the Prime Minister's office. He has also been Chief Adviser to Gordon Brown MP; a lecturer in telecommunications; an investment executive; and a reporter on BBC TV and radio. His latest book, The Locust and the Bee, was published by Princeton University press in 2013.
