Find out how people will travel in and between the Smart Cities of the future. As well as interactive demonstrations and presentations, you can to talk to leading transport innovation researchers and companies from the North West and the rest of Europe.
5.00pm - 7.00pm
Transport Innovation Showcase and Reception – network with companies and projects showcasing their project results and products in the area of transport innovation. With projects such as MODUM, Transport for Greater Manchester's (TfGM) Oxford Rd corridor transformation and BT’s Stride program in attendance visitors can expect to meet teams innovating acoss the sector.
The second half of the evening will be opened by the University of Manchester's Associate Vice President for Sustainability, Colin Hughes. This introduction will preceed the event's keynote presentation, delivered by Brian Simpson North West MEP and Chair of the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee. Brian will present on themes including the nationally debated and locally significant HS2 Rail link and more broadly the European Commision's Horizon 2020 program.
7.15 - 8.30pm
A panel discussion will offer topical debate chaired by Kieth McCabe, Managing Director at KAM Futures. With participation from Traveline’s Peter Stoner, writer and broadcaster Timandra Harkness, TfGM’s Dave Hytch amongst other soon to be confirmed guests, the evening is set for a lively discussion followed by an interactive Q&A session with the audience.
