Learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine; making something special for yourself or a loved one; and get a free book!
If you're unable to commit to a longer course, or you'd just like to dip your toes before diving in, then this one-day workshop is designed for you.
Learn sewing machine basics, stitches & seams, fabric terms, simple hems and basic seam finishes. Then create something special, in your own choice of fabric, from a range of mini-projects: tote bag, cushion, bow belt. All 3 of these projects are taken from the Learning to Sew with Lauren book from Lauren Guthrie; the Scottish star of BBC's Great British Sewing Bee. And each of our participating students will walk away with a free copy of this beautiful book.
This is a Pure Beginner workshop, which means it's tailored for absolute beginners, or anyone just feeling a little rusty. Our studio comes completely equipped with a sewing machine for each student; but you may bring your own if you wish.
