John Shotter: A Day of Celebration and Performance
Saturday 8th October 2016
This will be an extraordinary event.
A day celebrating the brilliant creativity and observational gifts of John Shotter which have been and is so influential of systemic and dialogical practice today. Many of you know John through some of his writings, early or recent. But perhaps you are not aware that John has been involved in performance and enjoys the connection between theorising and living moments. He has edited scripts and directed performance, the most recent being the original transcript of Mikhail Bakhtin's Defence in which he played the part of Bakhtin at the 2015 Bedfordshire Systemic Winter School.
This is a day of dialogical and performative presentations. We don't yet know what will happen but the invitation has been issued. And so far we are pleased to announce we have a number of performative readings, dialogical renderings, relational movements, spontaneous responses in person and via video link from:
- Sheila McNamee
- Harlene Anderson
- Peter Rober
- Jim Wilson
- Justine van Lawick
- Jaakko Seikkula
- Anne Hedvig Vedeler & Shotter Group
- Jacob Storch
- Gail Simon
- Jenny Helin
- Mary and Kenneth Gergen

- Performances by Participants on the Professional Doctorate in Systemic Practice
And many opportunities for performance, participation and dialogue across the whole community.
Do come. This will be a day to remember!
