KCBN Annual Conference 2013
Support for Staff: Helping staff to support people with behaviour that challenges
This year's conference focusses on how organisations can enable front line staff and managers to do the very important job of supporting people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
We are fortunate to have Andy McDonnell, founder of the Studio III Group, as our keynote speaker. Andy has promoted non-aversive approaches to behaviour management for many years and is a passionate advocate for people with learning disabilities and the staff who support them.
Delegates will have the opportunity to attend workshop sessions on a variety of practical approaches to managing their work and will hear about initiatives to support staff in Kent and nationally.
This year we are inviting organisations to make use of the large exhibition area to display information about their services and what they are doing in Kent.
As usual, a great restaurant lunch is provided as well as the opportunity to network with colleagues.
When & Where
The Kent Challenging Behaviour Network (KCBN) is a not for profit organisation. Its purpose is to improve the quality of services for people with intellectual disabilities who can present challenging behaviour and live in Kent. The network aims to do this by promoting and sharing best practice.
The KCBN brings together professionals in learning disabilities and challenging behaviour through regular training, workshops and conferences, and by providing an opportunity to network through regular meetings, conferences and project work.
