Brought to you by Bonobo Conservation Initiative UK in association with Midnight Safari Music www.midnightsafarimusic.com
Presenting King of the Swingers a night of vintage inspired decadence with live swing music, retro burlesque beauties and electro swing to take you back to The Golden Era in style!
Announcing the eagerly awaited return of female five part harmony group Elle and the Pocketbelles. Soulful and sassy, this quintet simply sizzle on stage with their swinging take on contemporary hit songs; as well as delivering jazz and swing classics in their harmonious and cheeky style, these girls simply ooze glamour. www.pocketbelles.com
We are also very pleased to introduce The Adam Holloway Quartet a talented four piece jazz and swing band comprising of saxophone, guitar, bass and drums, playing all your favourite instrumental swing classics.
We wouldn't be truly swinging without a sprinkle of cheeky cabaret. The night will be hosted by Sadie Sinner 'The Songbird' a sultry seductress; susceptible to the lights of the city and the attention of gentlemen, she wears her heart on her sleeve and is truly a gullible yet faithful and vivacious temptress.
And, as if we weren't spoiling you enough already, the night will include stunning burlesque performances from:
Bambie Blu, from her alluring come-hither doe eyed stare to those dangerous curves; all the way down to her stocking feet, Bambie Blu is every inch the burlesque princess.
Dollbaby, Old school hollywood glamour set to a throbbing base beat. Dollbaby's fan dance combines traditional technique with a modern edge. From its slow, sultry start to its high end finish 'Pink to make the boys Wink' will seduce and excite you!
Scarlett O'Hora, this vintage beauty has glamour by the glass! With her
Chantilly Lace, this alternative tattooed temptress with her Betty Paige inspired black hair and razor sharp fringe oozes sex appeal with a rock n roll style. Classically trained this pint sized pin up took to burlesque after dancing for 14 years. Every time she steps on stage she teases her audience into a wild frenzy and leaves them longing for more.
And be sure to bring your dancing shoes so you can take to the floor and hot step the night away to London's finest Electro Swing DJs:
Fred Balkayou, whose upbeat sound hase been described as ‘music of the last great depression brought up to date for the current one”. Think of the illicit fun of the Jazz Age, mix in Eastern European, Swing and Arabic flavour and then add the cutting edge sounds of modern electronic percussion.
Jon Bongly, one of the founding fathers and early specialists in Electro Swing, Jon Bongly has been called ‘The Happiness Magician’ and ‘experience, taste and musical adventure personified’. A regular at London's first electro swing club, White Mink : Black Cotton, since it's inception in 2009. We are very proud to welcome Jon to our decks.
All funds raised will go directly to Bonobo Conservation Initiative UK, the UK's only charity in support of the bonobo ape, famed for their matriarchal and sexually adventurous societies in which peace is maintained through affection and seduction. These make-love-not-war apes are highly endangered and threatened with extinction. Found only in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where they are hunted for bushmeat we must act now if we are to save the remaining populations that exist. BCI-UK works closely with local Congolese communities funding community managed initiatives, setting up medical centres and financing the only institue of Higher Education in rural DRC. We work with local people providing them with the knowledge and opportunity to manage their own resources sustainably so that they may find a way to live in peace with the bonobo.
