Local by Social: Midlands edition
Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM - Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 4:00 PM (GMT)
Local by Social Midlands Edition
Local by Social Midlands Edition will be the first of a series of Local by Social events to be held around the country, building on the success of the first Local by Social event held in London in June and on the publication of Local by Social by NESTA and Local Government Improvement and Development.
The theme of Local by Social Midlands Edition will be Neighbourhoods and we will be inviting local authorities and their partners from the region to come and speak about the work they are doing with social media and other digital technologies to engage with their local communities and solve local problems at a neighbourhood level. It will build on the recent success of events such as the Hyperlocal Govcamp West Midlands.
In the current climate of change within government, we are all looking for innovative ways to do things differently. Local by Social will stimulate and challenge your thinking about how the internet can be used to engage and empower local communities to make their neighbourhoods a better place for themselves and for everyone else.
We will be holding more Local by Social events in different regions of England over the next six months. If you are interested in attending an event in your area please email lucy [at] wearefuturegov [dot] com.
If you want to see how FutureGov's recent (and similar) CityCamp London event went, please check out this blog posting.
PLEASE NOTE - when booking your free ticket, please choose the ONE category that describes you best - Savvy Citizen, Government Innovator or Social Innovator. These are not different titles for different sessions.
