The London Sanitation Hackathon is part of a global event that brings together technologists and sanitation sector experts to develop innovative solutions to challenges in accessing sanitation. The event, sponsored globally by the World Bank, and in partnership with Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP) in London, will take place simultaneously in cities around the world on December 1-2.
The Sanitation Hackathon challenges programmers to develop innovative software solutions that address real-world problems in sanitation. During the months leading up to the event, subject matter experts and members of the public will create, submit and vote on problem definitions that highlight specific sanitation challenges that could be mitigated by innovative ICTs. Then, during a weekend-long marathon event, teams of programmers in cities around the world will develop innovative solutions to these problem definitions.
Please also join us if you can for a Friday night launch event on 30 November. The event will be from 18:00-20:00 at the Hub Westminster. You must register for this event separately at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/4779416363/LondonSanitationHack.
The London Sanitation Hackathon is being generously supported by Unilever's Domestos brand.
