The Mental Health First Aid training course is nationally accredited and teaches people how to recognise and support a person who could be experiencing a mental health problem.
This course provides valuable insight into mental health conditions and is useful for support staff, community groups, employers, employees, family members, emergency services and anyone who has an interest in mental health.
In the same way as we learn physical first aid, mental health first aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.
This 2 day Mental Health First Aid course will help you to:
Increase your understanding of mental health
Increase your personal resilience
Preserve life where a person may be a danger to themselves or others
Provide help to prevent the mental health problem developing into a more serious state
Reduce stigma and discrimination
The course will start promptly at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm on both days.
This course is subsidised by the Broxtowe Health Partnership and priority is given to residents and organisations in Broxtowe.
The cost of £20 per person.
Tea/coffee only will be provided. A cafe is available on site.
(The recommended minimum cost per place is £150 per person, before the BHP subsidy.)

Forces in the Community
We have been delivering courses regularly across the UK and in Europe. On a daily basis we work with individuals who have mental health issues including PTSD, psychosis, adjustment disorder, anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, talk around suicide is a regular occurrence and can directly effect several family members. We see the benefit of how listening with understanding can directly support clients and give them the confidence to deal with other issues.
