Location
Description
The Midlands Engine initiative aims to boost economic growth across the Midlands including through enhanced trade and investment. Join the first Midlands Engine market visit to China, the world’s 2nd largest economy and home to over 1.38bn people.
Overview
China is a market that offers huge potential for the UK. Direct investment continues to increase year on year and exports of goods from the UK have more than doubled since 2010.
Do you want to be part of the China success story?
Take part in this high-profile, multi-sector delegation, including business and civic leaders, which will showcase trade and investment opportunities and expertise from across the Midlands. This is your chance to explore what China has to offer and we will support you to tap into the fastest growing consumer market in the world.
Why participate?
Travelling out as part of a Government organised trade contingent will attract greater publicity than a solo visit and help open doors. For companies that are serious about doing business in China, there is simply no substitute for a personal visit. Benefit from the support of Trade Advisers before and throughout your visit to ensure that the trip is a success and that you have a clear understanding of the next steps you need to take.
Cost: A commitment fee of £275 for all delegates will cover some in-market event costs. Delegates need to meet their own flight and accommodation costs.
Eligibility: The market visit is open to all Midlands exporters. If you are an SME you may be eligible for a travel grant of £750.
Register your interest today: We are expecting interest in this market visit to be very high so please note that your place is not guaranteed until you receive confirmation.
