Description

Coaching, by its very nature, is motivational; the client has the sole attention of the coach who is focused on enabling them to excel. Surely that is sufficiently motivational in itself?

Yet we all know that change, and particularly behavioural change, is more difficult to achieve than we think. Although we may not like to acknowledge it, we often have much invested in our old ways of being and doing.

This event tries to answer questions including:

  • How do we facilitate the more reluctant clients to be ready, willing and able to engage in coaching?

  • What can we as coaches, do to help clients maintain that early motivation?

  • How do we facilitate the more reluctant clients to be ready, willing and able to engage in coaching?

  • What can we as coaches, do to help clients maintain that early motivation?

  • How can we maximise their change thinking?

  • How can we help clients prevent a slip backwards?

By participating in this session you will:

  • Unpack the topic of motivational coaching

  • Gain tactics and techniques to help your clients feel energised and determined throughout the coaching… and beyond

You should attend this course if you are a coach registered with the NELA Coaching Register (CoachNet).

This event is facilitated by Lesley Matile:

Lesley splits her time between executive coaching, introducing coaching cultures to forward thinking organisations and coach supervision. Her aim is to enable people to excel and bring the best of themselves to achieve their desired goals.

She began her working life in the Probation Service supervising high risk offenders. It was here, in this most demanding of environments, that Lesley developed her coaching and motivation skills; telling a career offender to change would have had a purely negative impact, but facilitating them to present their own arguments for change was often a great prelude to future success.

These motivational skills are now used in the corporate world, particularly helping those sent for coaching and the more reluctant, to consider why, and then how, they might need to develop in the VUCA world in which we now operate.

Lesley has had her own coaching business since 2000. She is a member of AC. She is accredited with EMCC at the Master Practitioner level and speaks on a variety of aspects of coaching at conferences and workshops.
