The centenary of the Medical Research Council falls in June this year. To mark the occasion, MRC Centres and Units around the UK are hosting various public events. The MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics in Cardiff University is the only MRC Centre in Wales and is holding its public event on Thursday 20th June as part of this national celebration. We would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the contribution that the MRC has made to the research nationally and also specifically to the research that we have been doing in Cardiff since first receiving MRC funding in 1987.
The MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics has made fundamental advances in our understanding of a number of disorders including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD and Alzheimer's disease. This public event will give our guests the opportunity to hear talks from our scientists. There will also be a networking reception following the main event, where our guests will be able to talk to our research groups about their work, achievements and aims for the future. With mental health being such an important issue, this will be an opportunity to learn about some of the world-leading research that we are undertaking in this area.
