National Strategy for Community Justice: Engagement events

The Community Justice (Scotland) Bill legislates for the creation of a national strategy to provide a vision for community justice in Scotland to facilitate and drive improvement. This strategy will enable partners to collaboratively address priority areas through a joint approach that is both outcomes-focused and evidence-based.

There is a wide range of expertise amongst community justice partners and stakeholders and it is important that the strategy harnesses this. To help ensure that collaboration is at the heart of this work the strategy is being guided by the National Strategy for Community Justice: Steering Group, which is made up of members from a broad range of backgrounds including social work, the Scottish Prison Service, the NHS, Police Scotland, third sector, central and local government, community planning partnerships, academia and people with an offending history.

Now it’s your chance to get involved

A range of events have been organised across Scotland to engage with a broader range of stakeholders to ensure the recommendations are effective and we have considered potential barriers to implementation. These events will enable you to share your views of the work so far, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, as well as providing an opportunity to suggest further improvement actions.

Arrival, registration and networking from 10.00am. The event will commence at 10.30am
