New Monasticism Day
Thursday, 29 March 2012 from 11:00 to 15:00 (BST)
"A day to explore Mission Communities/Orders and New Monasticism"
You are invited to a day to explore the new wave of Mission Communities/Orders and the movement of New Monasticism.
We are meeting together on the 29th March 2012 in Sheffield Cathedral from 11.00 - 3.00. The event costs £20+VAT which you will be invoiced for prior to the event.
Bishop Graham Cray will join us and give us an overview of what is actually happening now with regard to these new missional movements and what the vision could be for the future.
Ian Mobsby of Moot and Chris Neal of CMS will talk about how the new movements are learning from the old orders.
Shannon Hopkins will share from a grass roots perspective on how she has grown a community for mission.
Annie Nash, Chris Neal and Beth Keith will be discussing some of current thinking developing in the national mission orders growing out of the Anglican context: Lee Abbey, CMS and Church Army.
Together we will explore how we can encourage people to join in the new orders or how a Diocese might create a new Order for mission that would encourage lay pioneers. What is our response and how can we best help, harness and release the new wave of creative missional thinking where we are.
Please do book a place and come and join us for a day of learning from the past and looking to the future and working together to release more people in mission.
