Go Smarter to Work is offering employees the opportunity to take part in a variety of cycle skills and training sessions to help you feel confident cycling to work.

There are a range of courses available for all abilities - whether you’re already riding
to work or haven’t ridden bike for years. Please indicate when booking which level you would like to take part in.

Beginners
These sessions will always be in a traffic free environment and help you get started
on your bike.
Intermediate
A great way to get started on the roads, instructors will take you on some quiet roads
to help you feel confident and safe on your bike in traffic. You will always be in a small
group on the road so will feel safe and confident on your bike.
Advanced
This session is perfect for anyone who is already on the roads or getting ready to ride
to work. With no more than 2 people to an instructor the session will ride on busier
roads and help you understand the safest way to cycle in your area including using
cycle facilities and planning a journey.

Bikes can be provided and will be available on the day along with helmets and
accessories, all you need is comfortable clothing and shoes.

FAQs

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

info@gosmarter.co.uk

Do I need to bring a bike?

No, our instructors will be able to set you up on one of our bikes. We do recommend using your own bike for the advanced training. Alternatively you're more than welcome to bring your own bike as long as it's in a roadworthy condition. If you're not sure why not being your bike along to a Dr Bike session before attending a training session? Contact us to find out more.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and shoes. A lightweight jacket may be useful in case it does rain. Helmets are not essential but are recommended and can be provided if you do not have your own.

What happens if it's raining?

No one likes getting soaked so we will try to offer some training unless the weather makes it unsafe to do so. Our instructors will always try to find a sheltered location or offer you an alternative activity in bad weather.

Cycle training is provided by Go Smarter to Work for eligible for employees in the Tyne and Wear area.
