Description

Join the Big Lunch and Start UK (www.startuk.org) and a panel of special guests to discuss the concept that man is by nature a social being, who can only truly be self-sufficient when working together as a collective. Are we more resourceful as individuals or as part of a community?

Inspired by the quote “No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main”, from John Donne’s 1621 poem; this panel asks “how does this apply to today’s world?”

This engaging event will give you the chance to get involved with the debate; discussing how we can connect with our world and each other in a modern society, and hear inspirational stories where small actions have led to big changes. As part of “Start’s resourceful Big Lunch week” there will be a chance to ask questions and share your own ideas and stories; both at the event and during daily Q & A Twitter sessions with the guest panellists.

Confirmed Panelists:

Joey Tabone - Start UK

Jen Gale - My Make Do and Mend Year

Steve Lamb - River Cottage

Jenny Coles - Plymouth Energy Community

Alexandra Womack - Chipping Sodbury Big Lunch Organiser

This event is free to attend and includes coffee and pastries on arrival. Includes free entry to Eden after event.
