28/10/16 - Understanding Mental Health
Dispelling the stigma of mental ill-health, this is an interactive, day course designed to raise basic awareness and understanding around the most common features of mental distress. The day explores the reasons why people may become unwell with depression, anxiety or psychosis, and what can help.
“The mental awareness training was informative and very well received. The benefits for our staff and service users will be manifold but particularly the understanding of how the brain works when mental health issues occur and the impact they may have. We were able to link this knowledge with the possible effects on the autistic brain. The trainer allowed the participants to explore, question and discuss the subject effectively. We would not hesitate to recommend this training.” Autism Hampshire 2014
11/11/16 - Understanding Self Harm
Attention seeking? Suicidal? Mentally ill? Emo? This course explores the cultural and historical context of self harm, helping to dispel some of the myths that surround it, and raise understanding of this much misunderstood issue.
