20:00 - 21:00: The Optimizer in Oracle Database 12c Release 2: What You Need To Know - Nigel Bayliss
When upgrading to Oracle Database 12c Release 2, DBAs and architects often wish to mitigate the risk of performance regression by implementing these features in a controlled way. This session explains how to achieve this by introducing the most significant changes we’ve made to the Oracle Optimizer followed by an exploration of how these features can be controlled and constrained. The session also presents how the changes to the Optimizer can influence the way a system is managed though the upgrade process and throughout the development-to-production life-cycle.
