London’s Other Favourite Night of Renaissance Motets & Booze!™'s residency at Travelling Through.
Our residency at SE1's loveliest bookshop returns for another session of the very best motets and madrigals from Polyphony Down the Pub over a glass or two of wine.
Arrival time is 6.15pm for a 6.30 kick-off; the bookshop door is locked at 6.30 on the dot so we absolutely cannot accommodate late arrivals.
Spaces are limited and we must ask that you don't book unless you are absolutely sure you can make it on time.
Half the spaces will be made available at 9am on Tuesday September 20th; the remaining spaces will go live at 5pm on Friday September 23rd.
(Please also read the FAQs below.)
NB Lambeth North station is currently closed; use Waterloo instead.
Do I need to be able to read music to take part?
You do need to be a confident sight singer; the Counterpint in the Café sessions are half the size of the regular PDtP singalongs so you should be willing and able to hold your line against the other voices.
What happens if I book but don't turn up?
As we need to rely on everyone being there for the balance of voices, any no-shows will be excluded from booking future Counterpint in the Café sessions. Cruel but fair.
Do you provide print-outs of the sheet music?
No, only the links to the sheet music; you need to print out the pages yourself or better yet, save them to a tablet and do the planet a favour.
Is there food and drink at the venue?
The cafe provides very reasonably priced light bites, plus excellent wines and bottled beers.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Travelling Through's cafe is located on the lower ground floor with no lift so regrettably the event is not suitable for anyone who is unable to use stairs.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
