Pit Stop: Future Focus
Tuesday, 4 October 2016 from 10:30 to 11:30 (BST)
Being involved in designing the future for our Council and our City is not just for managers. This Pit Stop is for anyone who wants to make their contribution and learn more about the skills to prepare, design and implement future changes for yourself, your team or your service. This Pit Stop would be of additional value to those who have attended the Inspire Future Focus Module and to prospective Aspire candidates.
The Future Focus Pit Stop Includes:
Why and how to create a vision for your service
Why we need to change
How you can contribute to the Council's vision
How to apply the future focus behaviours in your role
Coming up with ideas and options using the TOWS* model
*TOWS (SWOT backwards) is a tool that encourages creativity and can lead to the identification of new options. It builds on the more established SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) technique for internal/external analysis of an organisation or service. If you are coming to the Pit Stopyou might want to think of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats in your service in advance - but it's not essential.
