Description

Back by popular demand, our session on planning and managing your orchard will teach you all you need to know to plan and care for your orchard.

The session will cover trees life cycle (if you plant a pip you won't get an apple!), rootstock and grafting (what is it, what does it mean, what to buy) and planning your orchard (where to plant your trees and what are the best species for your garden). We will also look at orchard care and talk about why we prune, pruning shapes, the perfect cut, and the three golden rules of tree pruning before venturing outside to prune the garden's tree.

Trainer: Paul Richens
