 インターネット発展とデジタルコンテンツの増加は、間違いなくインターネットからの剽窃(盗用)の増加を助長してきました。また、独創性のないコ ンテンツを追跡する手段を提供してきた、カリフォルニア大学バークレー校の大学院でのユニークなビジョンは、学生の学習を変化させ、世界的剽窃検知ソフト ウェアへ進化させた。
 1999年、Dr. John Barrieは、学生同士の査読プロセスをを通じて、批判的なフィードバックを得ることができ、さらに、学生同士で、チェックしあった結果驚くべき数の ソースからの剽窃であることを暴く、予期せぬ結果を確認することができた。Turnitinの過去及び進化をご提示するとともに、Johnは Academic integrity(学術の誠実さへ)のグローバルな視点から、潜在的な剽窃の防止のためのツールが、どのようにアカデミック・ライティングスキルを向上 させ、世界中の学生に、より豊かで、より建設的な貴重なフィードバックを提供するかをご提示させていただきます。

A recent Pew Research centre report, found that 55% of College presidents say that plagiarism in students’ papers has increased over the past 10 years". (2011)

 

Dr John Barrie, is the co-founder of iParadigms the company that created Turnitin, the world leader in plagiarism prevention software in 1998. John will be in giving a seminar on Academic integrity, at University of Tokyo on the 12th October 2012.

An enigmatic and engaging speaker, John has written articles on academic integrity, plagiarism and Turnitin, spoken at numerous events, conferences worldwide, where he has presented papers on academic integrity.

Turnitin is the world leader for plagiarism prevention, and not only comprises of originality check, but also features which facilitate online submission and marking of student work allow you to mark students work online (GradeMark), and give students the opportunity to review each other’s work (PeerMark).

This two hour event will give you the opportunity to ask Dr Barrie any question you may have on Turnitin and how they system can best help your institution.
