Description

Software developed during the course of other research is a valuable output and often overlooked. Where software is required to validate research findings many funders expect it to be shared; even when this is not the case, the impact and value of research can often be increased by publishing the associated software. This seminar will guide researchers through the process of publishing software, including how to prepare it, where to publish it, and what licenses to use. Speakers include representatives from the Software Sustainability Institute, the University’s own Research and Enterprise Development Commercialisation Team, and examples from a number of Bristol academics who have successfully published their own software.

This seminar is aimed at both research staff and postgraduate students who wish to learn more about the publication of software and how this might be of benefit to their own research activities.
