Event Details

Protective Behaviours is a life skills, assertiveness and safety awareness programme. It is about building confidence in exploring what safety means and what can get in the way of us acting for our own safety. The programme looks at ways of understanding our personal response to risk and safety and helps develop tools and resources to keep ourselves safe.

Learning Outcomes for this course:

  • Use Unwritten Rules as part of your assessment/ engagement process around safety
  • Practice working with the core concepts  of  PBs using the  practitioners workbook
  • Be aware of how to use PBs around safety issues and managing risk

**Please note that you must have attended the PBs one day basic training before attending a practice workshop**

This course looks in more detail at risk taking behaviour in teenagers as a part of their transition to adulthood and how Protective Behaviours can be used to increase young people’s understanding of personal safety and emotional literacy. Includes access to online resources.

Suitable for those working or volunteering with young people aged 12 – 19yrs

Places on courses cancelled with less than two weeks notice before the course start date will not be refunded. All courses are based upon a minimum of 12 attendees. If under subscribed, Safety Net may postpone a course until the following scheduled date and move your booking accordingly.
