Please come to the launch event of #quclms, a Twitter-based medical education intervention supported by a Teaching Innovation Grant.
We hope that #quclms will allow us to apply social learning theory to a social media context, encouraging discussion, debate, critical thinking, peer-led learning, use of evidence and digital professionalism amongst undergraduate students.
The concept of #quclms is that at the start of the week a case and question will be posted on the site www.quclms.com and tweeted from @quclms. During the week discussion will proceed on Twitter and be student-led. At the end of the week the tweets will be curated and summarised, and an 'expert comment' and list of resources published on the site, written by a clinician or academic.
#quclms will give clinicians and academics the opportunity to directly engage with students via social media. It will allow increased exposure to focused areas of the curriculum and encourage critical thinking.
