1) Get acquainted with Raindance’s Founder Elliot Grove
He’s cool, tall and wears sunglasses 24/7. He also helped shape the careers of Edgar Wright, Christopher Nolan and Guy Ritchie. Here’s your chance to share a drink.
2) Get to know our cool interns and staff- and how they can help you.
Come along and meet the award-winning filmmakers who teach courses at Raindance. Also present will be the team responsible for the Raindance Film Festival - Britain's largest and most successful independent film festival.
3) Get to know some new industry people
Like producers and paperwork guys and YouTubers who can help you get funding or submit your movie or build an audience for your movie.
4) Get a film project started. Duh.
5) Get just a little liquored up and get your creative juices flowing.
Once the tutors have finished we'll be opening the wine. Mingle with other filmmakers and those who are looking to dip their toes in the water. Great film partnerships have been formed at Raindance and this may be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Lovely meeting you all for the first time on Thursday evening. It was a very helpful event for a first timer to attend, and for more experienced people I'm sure, but as a career-changer, I found it answered all the questions I had brought with me as a newbie to the industry. Thank you all.

Most of our year is spent training thousands of new and established filmmakers in all aspects of film. Among high profile alumni are Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins), David Yates (Harry Potter), Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn – who actually met at a Raindance course. Raindance training is one of the world’s largest catering for over 3000 students per year.
In 2011 we launched an innovative Postgraduate Film Degree with Staffordshire University and the Independent Film Trust.
In 2013 we relaunched our production arm, Raw Talent with the feature Love.Honour.Obey.

He has written three books which have become industry standards: RAINDANCE WRITERS LAB 2nd Edition (Focal Press 2008), Raindance Producers' Lab: Lo-To-No Budget Filmmaking (Focal Press 2013) and 130 PROJECTS TO GET YOU INTO FILMMAKING (Barrons 2009). He was awarded a PhD in 2009 for services to film education.
