Description

18:30 MEP Design Practice for Seismic Zones

Of special interest to members involved in international projects, or simply understanding the vulnerability of MEP services. See images of some of the consequences and learn about the codes.

Martin Deveci - a European expert and ASHRAE voting member on the subject - will cover design practice and requirements for resilient - and above all safer buildings - illustrating with a range of international projects and a fully-detailed review of the codes. The failure analysis thinking and restraint principles can of course be used in other applications too - is the basement the best location for a safety-critical generator, its fuel storage and switchgear ?

There will be some handouts too.

Open to all.

19:15 The 20th Annual General Meeting

For corporate members of CIBSE in this Region, it's time to vote and welcome a new Regional Committee and this year, a new Chair. We will also celebrate the achievements of the present Committee and thank Arina, Igor and Kati of Pushkin House.

We are lucky to have many new volunteers, but if you wish to volunteer and stand for election, please contact the organiser for more information.

Statements from candidates for election are now up on the CIBSE website - the Home Counties North West Updates page. In the event of there being more than two candidates for a particular role, HCNW proposes to use the Single Transferable Vote (1st choice, 2nd choice).

Returning Officer: Mr Tudor Allen DAA, Senior Archives Officer, London Borough of Camden

If you request a vote on the night, then under CIBSE Regulations for the Regions you will have transferred to HCNW Region and given up any other attachment or committee role outside HCNW. If you're a Corporate Member of CIBSE and wish to switch and join this Region, you can do that on the night with a simple form.

19:45 Food, Wine, Networking and Ideas - with CIBSE HCNW Prizes

Members are invited to meet the new HCNW Committee, to voice ideas for the Region in 2015-2016, catch up with other members and friends, and enjoy the usual convivial networking.

Pushkin House is a charitable trust.
