Dr Sari Kovats, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social and Environmental Research in the Faculty of Public Health and Policy, LSHTM has been actively researching the effects of weather and climate on human health for more than 15 years and has published widely on this topic; including 60 peer-reviewed journal papers and more than 20 book chapters. Sari is currently Director of the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (NIHR HPRU) in Environmental Change and Health, led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in partnership with Public Health England (PHE).

Dr Andrew Newsham is a Lecturer in International Development and is Programme Convenor for the dissertations programme at the Centre for Development, Environment and Policy (SOAS). He brings practical and theoretical insights from social anthropology and human geography to a research agenda which encompasses environment and development in Southern Africa and South America, with a particular focus on climate change adaptation and development.
