Practice Assessor Study Days for 2015/2016.
Attendance at any event will be recorded and constitutes fulfilment of mandatory requirements. There are three types of update from Jan to December and mentors can attend any combination they require for their learning needs. You can attend AM, PM or the whole day.
The documentation updates and the sign off workshops are for nurses only and the theme days are inter- professional.
- The “Documentation Update”
This update is for nurses to update themselves on the new nursing curriculum and Practice Assessment Tool which commenced September 2014, which has been redesigned to incorporate the new standards for education set by the NMC.
- The “Theme event ”
This inter professional event explores the theme of ‘facilitation of learning’
This will incorporate discussion around learning theories and learning styles and how that can support mentors in the facilitation of learning. It will offer opportunities to discuss reflective practice, the qualities of mentors and how mentors can support learning at various stages of student training.
- The “Sign Off workshop”
This workshop is primarily for those wishing to gain sign off mentor status and also understand the roles and responsibilities of the sign off mentor. This is achieved by having the opportunity to complete two of the three sign off events required by the Nursing Midwifery Council (2010) through simulation, (The third has to be completed in practice).
