Richard Dixon is no ordinary entrepreneur. In just over a decade he has created his very own multi-award winning organisation. His business headquarters in Dunfermline have been billed Scotland's answer to a Googleplex, whereby employees bring their dogs to work, zoom about the office on scooters, have their own gym and access to an array of games consoles throughout their working day.
Wondering how you could emulate his success? In this Masterclass Richard will expand upon his business experiences, looking at how you can release your inner entrepreneur and create your very own mini Google from wherever your business operates.
About Richard Dixon
Richard is the CEO and Founder of Vets Now, which was established in 2001. He originally trained as a vet at Glasgow University going on to study a PhD in endocrinology. Upon completion of his degree he saw a gap in the veterinary industry within the out of hours service that was compulsory for all veterinary surgeries to provide. Believing in his business venture, Richard sold his flat in order to fund his vision and open his first out of hours clinic. Just over a decade later the organisation now has over 50 clinics and 3 specialist veterinary hospitals, making Vets Now the market leaders in their industry.
In 2001, Richard also set up the Pet Blood Bank, a charity encouraging dog owners to let their pets give blood in a bid to save other dogs lives, the first organisation of its kind in the UK.
The latest business venture that Vets Now has undertaken is the creation of PetNet360, an online community for pet owners, which was launched in 2011. This endeavour has been a massive success and the community now has over 45,000 thousand members.
