Come and Try Beginners at the Helix is a one hour session aimed at those who can swim but have never made the transition from pool to the open water, while experiencing the great new facilities at the Helix Park. Join like-minded swimmers and be taught by experienced coaches at the iconic new venue in Falkirk.
The session will focus on:
- Wetsuit advice
- Combating those Open Water anxieties and race day nerves
- Acclimatisation and feel for the water
- Basic open water skills, including sighting and drafting
- Question and answer session
Each coaching group will have a maximum coach/swimmer ratio of 1-12.
Requirements: Swimmers must be aged 16 years and over. Wetsuits are compulsory. If you need to hire a wetsuit on the day, please choose your size in the checkout process. Hire will be £15 for the session to be paid in cash on the day of hire.
Timing: Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your session. There are limited changing facilities available at Falkirk Stadium on the day or at the venue.
