Come and see how we've grown from a bold vision to a world-leading university achieving great things on your doorstep.

In 1964 we were a fledging university, with big ideas, designed for a modern age. Today, we have more than fulfilled our potential.

We’re kicking off our 50th anniversary celebrations with our Homecoming Weekend on Saturday 13 September at our Colchester Campus. There’ll be music, magic and comedy for all the family; interactive games inspired by our research; street theatre and robotics displays; as well as bite-sized lectures from our pioneering researchers, art workshops and tours of historic Wivenhoe Park. All activities, and parking are free.

We are proud to be part of the Colchester community and want to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported us on what has been an exciting, pioneering, and sometimes challenging journey.

Please join us and find out why we are so much more than just ‘those towers on the hill.’
