Tuesday 5 July
'Inspace', 1 Crichton Street, Edinburgh.
Welcome to the fourth meetup of the Scottish Linked Data Interest Group and the second meeting in 'hackday' format.
After a very successful hackday in Glasgow in February, the consensus was that we should do the same kind of thing again. The outline programme for the day is:
09.30 - 10.00 Arrive
10.00 - 10.45 Short presentations - what people plan to work on
10.45 - 11.00 Get organised for hacking
11.00 - 17.00 Hack session (with lunch provided)
17.00 - 18.00 Short presentations on what has been achieved
18.00 --> informal chat in nearby pub
If you can't make it for the whole day, but you are interested in what's going on, feel free to come just for the final presentations.
There is no specific theme to the day, but your hacking should of course involve Linked Data and we prefer doing something simple enough to have a concrete output on the day. It's fine to build on something you are already working on, but we're aiming for a hands-on session, not just chat.
If you are planning to come, please post something on our mailing list, to say what you are planning to work on, or to look for potential hackday collaborators or to ask any questions you have about the day.
There is also a wiki page for the event, where we'll add useful info and resources in the lead up to the event.
(Note on location: the entrance to 'Inspace' is on the corner of Crichton Street and Potterrow. Don't go into the main Informatics Forum entrance).
