Shortly after the local elections, the Labour party will start selecting in the 26 'island seats' it has identified for early selection (see below) - come and find out about the process.
Preparing for Parliamentary selections can be daunting, difficult and time consuming, but with good preparation, the barriers which may prevent Labour members from representing the Labour Party at the next election are not insurmountable.
Progress has therefore developed a workshop for those who are interested in getting selected. The workshop will go through planning your campaign, considering your message and organising your campaign team. It will be led by Richard Angell. Richard is the former Chair of Young Labour and is currently deputy director of Progress. He helped with successful selection campaigns for a number of people including Stephen Twigg in Liverpool and most recently Emma Reynolds in Wolverhampton.
To attend the workshop you must be a Progress member on the day of the training session.
The 'island seats' choosen for early selection are:
Thurrock, Norwich South, Waveney, Lincoln, Stroud, Brighton Kemptown, Bedford, Hove, Northampton North, Corby, Hastings and Rye, Ipswich, Worcester, Warwick and Leamington, Swindon South, Stevenage, Loughborough, Peterborough, Harlow, Milton Keynes South, Dover, Redditich, Crawley, Reading West, Chatham and Aylesford, Burton on Trent
