SELFRIDGES X THE WILDERNESS’ SHAKESPEAREAN BANQUET
28 SEPTEMBER, 6.30PM
THE BALCONY ON 4
As part of Selfridge’s Live + Loud Celebrates Shakespeare reFASHIONed campaign, The Wilderness is taking over The Balcony Restaurant in Selfridges for one night only to create a Shakespeare inspired banquet. The avant garde restaurant, who have recently opened their second venue, a tapas and cocktail bar, in the Selfridges Foodhall will be offering guests a six course taster menu drawing on the poetry, drama and attitude of England’s famous bard. Alex Claridge, Head Chef and Owner of The Wilderness, explained; “Our restaurant is a restaurant in the loosest sense of the word, with a dining room designed by theatrical set designers and a menu that aims to tell stories. When we discussed the opportunity to tackle Shakespeare through food and drink, it was just too good.”
The evening will begin with snacks and drinks designed by city cocktail maestro, Robert Wood, before the chef leads guests through a culinary adventure inspired by Shakespeare’s work. The Menu even features a dessert inspired by Sonnet 104, including an edible copy of the poem.
