This flexible course aims to foster professional development through increasing assessment and examination knowledge and skills, in order to produce knowledgeable, skilled and reflective healthcare practitioners. The course focusses on history taking and examination of the body systems and provides practitioners with a systematic and structured method in assessing patients.

This course meets the following areas aspects listed on the NMC guidance sheet 3:

Examples of CPD activities in the ‘How to Revalidate’ NMC booklet.

  • Structured direct learning style through completion of course workbook and direct teaching.
  • Participatory learning through peer assessment clinical practical exams every week, use of group work, case studies and problem based learning.
  • Learning objectives, outcomes and session notes completed.
  • At the end of the course delegates are awarded a certificate with 40 CPDUK accredited hours of activity.
  • The competency document requires 50 hours of Self arranged structured clinical supervision. This will require sign off by your clinical mentor and contributes to practice hours completed.
