As part of Low Carbon Oxford week we are presenting a free event which will outline how businesses and other organisations are becoming more resiliant by better collaboration and use of assets.
Want to save your organisation money? Looking to do more with less? The Collaborative Economy* is liberating assets for the benefit of organisational sustainability and the bottom line. Come along to find out how..*(or Sharing Economy or Collaborative Consumption)
The 2 hour session will outline
- Various models of car and bike sharing which are reducing vehicle costs and emissions.
- How sites like sharemystorage.com can increase space efficiency
- The explosion in different working formats outside of the traditional 9-5
- How the internal and external sharing of assets has saved Sunderland City Council £400K in 3 years and is making major savings in other organisations.
- How organisations are liberating underused assets and generating a new revenue stream.
This free event will demonstrate the financial and environmental savings that are possible by reusing or sharing resources and equipment within and between organisations. The event will be of specific interest those working in the public and private sectors in shared services, sustainability, procurement, HR, transport, facilities and asset management.
Daniel O’Connor from WARPit will outline the movement known as Collaborative Consumption and the impact this is having on organisational resource efficiency. He will go on to outline the various models available highlighting case studies and real world actionable advice on embedding new systems.
The event culminates with a buffet lunch and networking.
TIME names Collaborative Consumption as one of the “10 Ideas That Will Change The World”. Collaborative Consumption improves resource efficiency by reducing the need to consume by sharing, bartering, lending, trading, renting, gifting, and swapping reinvented through network technologies.
When & Where
Warp It Reuse Network
The following events are aimed at staff within FM, sustainability, waste, space and asset management roles within large organisations. The events are also aimed at current organisations using the Warp It system.
Warp It's mission for the last 15 years has been to make the reuse of assets easy. Warp It has saved organisations over $10 million in avoided waste and procurement charges developing reuse schemes.
"The ultimate vision is where reuse & repair is so convenient and desirable, that organisations do not throw anything away or buy anything new. I want Warp It to be the network for organisations, where buying new is the last resort and nothing is wasted. Where reusable items are redistributed for their 2nd and 3rd useful lives and when the items fail, they are diverted into repair.” Daniel O'Connor Warp It Founder
