Event Details

Following the success of our recent launch, we're here again to present a networking session with top quality female speakers on overcoming adversity, feeling the fear and moving on up to success:

'SheSays Brighton: GET OVER IT! ... overcoming obstacles'

Thursday 12 January 6.30pm to 9pm

at Lighthouse Arts, Kensington Street, Brighton

SheSays is a global organisation and they do fantastic work around the world empowering women in the digital, media and creative industries. Speakers confirmed are:

Cara Courage is an arts consultant and project manager, working across all art forms with a specialism in visual and public art and architecture and over the last three years, she's been working on major Cultural Olympiad commissions. Based in Brighton, her work takes her all over the UK and the world, working on creative and business development consultancy, advocacy, strategy creation and implementation, fundraising and financial planning, media and marketing, commissioning and curating, putting a show on or up…and her real job satisfaction comes from aggregating people together to work collaboratively and empowering artists and arts organisations to make bold decisions and enable change.

Sally Turner is a writer, broadcaster and public relations consultant specializing in issues relating to women and popular culture. As a journalist and editor, Sally has worked for The Independent, Discovery Channel and GQ. Her PR portfolio includes work for award-winning communications company Global Tolerance and for EQUALS, an innovative campaign run by Annie Lennox and major charities to celebrate the centenary of International Women’s Day earlier this year. Sally has faced various obstacles in her life and career. Her experiences led to a positive change in career path and she is currently writing a book, Eve’s Volcano, and developing various projects inspired by this vision.

The flyer design is by illustrator and SheSays Brighton member Brigitte Sutherland.
