Social Innovation Speed Dating San Francisco
Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)
Brought to you by friends of Simpl:
Have you ever noticed how hard it is to find the right person in government (or any other organization for that matter!) to help you make your idea a reality. Fix this, tweak that, wouldn't it be good if...
Well Social Innovation Speed Dating San Francisco will help to fill that gap!
Hosted by our friends at Code for America, we're running an event to connect people with ideas to people who can offer support to make those ideas a reality - for social good in the city.
Whether it's a new way of using the web to meet some of the city's challenges, a new idea for a non-profit or just to get a frustration off you chest and look for people to work with to fix it, this event is for you!
You might be a government employee with great ideas, a social innovator or a San Francisco resident looking to make change happen.
Also – if you feel you might have something to offer, from desk space to skills to contacts or even a little money, we'd also love to hear from you! There'll be plenty of bright sparks looking for your help (think about these things before you come along will help you get the most out of the evening!).
The format of the evening will be:
6:00pm Arrive and check In
6:15pm Introduction to the event
6:30pm Social Innovation Speed Dating (pitch ideas and barter for support)
7:30pm Drinks and snacks
Afterwards, all participants will be encouraged to post all the ideas and offers of support that come out of the event to the soon to launch Simpl website, keeping the conversation going after the event.
This is just the start of things to come so watch this space!
