Using social media for your business is not as easy as it might seem. Yes, the main tools are technically ‘free’, but the time and effort required to achieve social media success is considerable. So, you need a plan – and not just any plan, but a realistic and achievable one.
This one-day course will help you define: exactly what social media can (and can’t) do for you; how you can find the time to do it all in your already extremely busy day; and how you can make sure it’s having results.
The course is not advanced, but does assume a working knowledge of Facebook and Twitter.

•Identifying who you want to target, and how you can help them.
•Deciding which platforms and tools are most relevant.
•Managing things day-to-day – including tone, frequency, policy & guidelines.
•Monitoring and measuring success.
•What to do if things go wrong.
PM - SOCIAL CONTENT WORKSHOP
•Digging deeper to understand who you are trying to reach and how they behave on social platforms.
•Determining the different content paths you should follow.
•Looking at what works (and what doesn’t!) on different platforms.
•Coming up with specific content ideas for your campaign.
•Drafting example editorial calendars for the coming weeks/months.
Daisy Griffith is the lead social media trainer at the BBC, working with news and programme teams across the organisation on social media strategy, best practice and crisis planning. She has experience agency-side and in-house for a range of clients from small, local businesses to multi-national global brands. She also runs her own company, the School of Social, which provides social media services to commercial and public sector organisations.
Daisy specialises in social media communications that genuinely connect with and engage audiences, she is passionate about putting the consumer first in a way that delivers tangible business results. She has 2 small children and lives by the sea after finding central London too difficult to try to control a toddler in.
