Event Details

A new law relating to school websites came into effect in September 2012, and in February 2013 Sir Michael Wilshaw, the Chief Inspector at Ofsted, told Headteachers: "Schools are required to provide key information to parents and others on the school's website, including details of curriculum provision. Inspectors will use the website as a starting point when considering provision in the school."

Does your school website comply with the new legislation? And, even IF it is legally compliant, does your school website make your school look amateurish or unprofessional? If you want your school website to be more effective, this is the course for you.

7 things you'll learn on this course...

1. How to ensure your school website complies with the law.

2. Why your website can set you up for an “Outstanding” Ofsted.

3. How to use simple website analytics to save time and improve engagement

4. What an “Outstanding” school website looks like.

5. Essential stuff that should go on your front page.

6. Content Management Systems and website packages.

7. Six techniques to improve your school website.

Where will the event be held?

We normally book the venue no more than two weeks in advance. We tend to use big brand hotels (like Holiday Inn, Premier Inn or Best Western), football stadiums or purpose-built conference venues. You will receive detailed joining details (including the address and postcode of the venue) 7 to 10 days in advance of the event. We are always looking for good training venues. If your school/college has its own conference room or training facilities (or you can recommend a good training venue in the area), please feel free to give us a call on 01722 237288, or e-mail us at: enquiries@mustard-training.com

Who is the course for?

Anyone with an interest in your school website will enjoy the course, including:- Headteachers; Sixth Form Heads; Deputy Heads; Assistant Heads; Bursars; School Business Managers; Members of the SMT/SLT; ICT Managers; Finance Officers; Communications Officers; Marketing or PR Officers, and; Governors. The course is delivered in plain English - not jargon.

What sort of schools should come along?

State sector schools including: nurseries, Sure Start centres, children's centres, infant schools, primary schools, junior schools, middle schools, secondary schools, academies, free schools, grammar schools, special schools, UTCs, colleges and sixth forms. Independent schools will benefit from knowing the standards being set for their state sector colleagues, so the course is also relevant to them.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We tend to use well-known conference venues with good parking provision close to major road networks. You will receive transport and parking information with your joining information, 7 to 10 days in advance of the event.

Do I need to bring anything to the event?

You will receive a training pack, with hand-outs, writing paper and a pen when arrive. You will not need to bring a mobile device or laptop with you.
