With the amount of likes and comments we can all do now on the internet, the art of being able to get your point across in a face to face environment seems to be getting lost.
So to counter this culture of 140 characters and faceless avatars we are putting on an event where you can hear some great speakers and also have your opportunity (if you wish) to get up and talk about what is at the forefront of your mind about our industry.
Creative directors, Art directors, Copywriters and Designers from all fields invited to attend.
The Marketing Store - Events Lounge, 16 Hatfields, London SE1 8DJ. View map.
We will provide:
Great speakers to kick start the event: Patrick Collister of Directory, Nick Bennett of Steel London, Phil Dearson of The Marketing Store, Alan Long of Sane and Able, and Stuart Edwards of By the Scruff
Drinks (for you to oil your gizzard so you can stand on aforementioned box - if you wish)
Nibbles (for you to counter the drink)
A soap box
You need to provide:
Just you and a your free ticket...
You know you're a bit weird, a bit different, a bit special.
But what exactly is it that distinguishes you from everyone else? How different are you really? And why does the world need you more than ever right now? And how does that make this the most exciting time to be in the communications business?
Questions, questions, questions. No answers but maybe some ideas to mulch.
Head of Digital, Steel London
"Excuse me sir. Your pitch is Broken"
It's old. It's tired. It's broken. It's time we stood for change. The pitch as you know it , is no ones friend. Let the revolution begin!
Head of Digital Strategy, The Marketing Store
"Advertising is a tax."
“Advertising is a tax you pay for having an unremarkable product or service”. So says Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon. If nobody wants adverts apart from the advertising industry, what’s the point of being a creative that works on them?
Creative Director at Sane and Able
"I'm a digital designer and proud"
With digital design being a major area within everyday design why are so few students covering it at university or including it in their portfolios - is there a preconceived stigma to being a digital designer and if so how do we change this?
Managing Director at By The Scruff
"Double your prices"
What would happen if you doubled your prices? You might lose all of your clients. But might the new ones be better?
