Introducing Start of Play - an Unconference

“The only joy in the world is to begin.”

Start of Play is an unconference all about getting a start: starting a game, starting a career in gaming, or starting a games company. On Saturday October 27th, GameCamp, Transmedia London, and Six to Start invite you to an event all about beginnings.

As part of the London Games Festival, we’ll be welcoming you to Mozilla’s swanky HQ in Covent Garden. There will be featured speakers including Rhianna Pratchett (games writer), Naomi Alderman (author), Yomi Ayeni (The Clockwork Watch), Adrian Hon (Six to Start), and more!

Start of Play is an Unconference, in the spirit of successful events run by Gamecamp.

Doors open at 9:00 for registration and we expect to leave for the pub at 16:00.  Here's the preliminary schedule for the day:

9:00 - Registration, coffee, milling about

9:30 - Opening speech, house rules

9:45 - Board Opens

10:00 - 12:30 - Sessions (30 minute session length)

12:30 - 13:30 - Lunch

13:30 - 15:30 - Sessions (30 minute session length)

15:30 - Closing address
