Thanks to the generosity of John Haresnape and family, we’re having a special charity August Coffee & Cake business networking, at Ipswich Wet Dock aboard the Allen Gardiner, the latest addition to River Cruise Restaurants.
Unlike our usual “drop in”, this time pre-booking is essential as there are limited places, so please reserve your spot now.
We’ll let you off the usual £3 admission if you donate to our adopted charity Suffolk Young Carers and we will be collecting for this on the day.
Directions: (a full-size version of the map will be emailed to all attendees - can't figure out a way to put it on here in a large anough format!)
From the Novotel double roundabout (towards the Station), between the 2nd roundabout and STOKE (not Stone) Bridge, turn left. The end of the Wet Dock is immediately in front of you. There is no entry directly ahead of you along the Waterfront, so you must bear right. Straight ahead is a double gate which is normally locked, so bear left into Ipswich Haven Marina, even if one of the gates is open. Pass on your left the Marina Office and the Last Anchor pub. Very often just beyond the pub there will be cones or oil drums apparently blocking the road. Do a chicane through these and keep following the road. Pass on your right Fairline yachts and then Spirit Yachts. You will see two old disused cranes with jibs in the air and painted bright blue. The Allen Gardiner berth is immediately in front of the cranes. Go down the ramp to the floating pontoon and board Allen Gardiner for a free parking permit, which must be displayed in your vehicle.
