Course Content/Objectives

- This course will introduce iPad apps and accessibility tools that can help to support learners in literacy based tasks.

- With a particular focus on dyslexic learners, the iPad is an excellent learning platform for encouraging and engaging learners in literacy work.

- TASSCC will introduce recommended tools that have been tried and tested and that provide the best support for our learners in Aberdeen City.

Outcomes sought

- Gain an understanding of how iPad apps can be used to support Dyslexic learners, including how to access digital resources.

- Learn how to use a variety of different applications to support literacy work, and how to ensure accessibility options are optimised.

- Improve the learning experience leading to better outcomes and increased attainment for pupils.

2.1.2: Know how to use, design and adapt materials for teaching and learning which stimulate, support and challenge all learners.

3.1.2: Communicate appropriately with all learners, and promote competence and confidence in literacy

3.2.1: Enable learners to make full use of well-chosen resources, including digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
