Really excited to annouce talks for this month:
Rob Burns, @rodburns from WIP Connector, http://www.wipconnector.com/ all the way from London, is intro'ing with the company he works for, talking briefly about Code Club, http://codeclub.org.uk/, then talking about the internet of things. We also have @jean_nehme talking about his @touchsurgery mobile app that is helping surgeons train on the go!
After the success of last month's event (thanks Chris and Andy for some ace talks) this month's instalement of Techmeetup Dundee will again take place at the Queen Mother Building at Dundee Uni
Date: Tuesday 30th October - 6.30 for talks starting at 7.
Venue: School of Computing at Dundee Uni: http://www.app.dundee.ac.uk/campusmap/?id=e7f9bc119282d0c1
Talks are still tbc - we have a couple which are just being confirmed at the moment but if anyone would like to speak please give us a shout @dundeemeetup:
Thanks to everyone for the great feedback over the last couple of months, based on what's been said there will be another iteration with some upgrades this time round:
- we'll be ditching the lecture theatre for a more social space on the ground floor.
- skyscanner have agreed to double our sponsorship so we'll be massively stepping up the pizza, beer, wine and soft drinks order so they hopefully don't run out quite as quickly this time round
- for anyone arriving late we'll make sure there's a door left open (or at least a number to call so someone can let you in) - sorry about that last time...
- and finally to meet demand for some further discussions over a drink once we've outstayed our welcome at the QMB we'll head over to the union - everyone welcome but bring student cards if you have them and everyone will need id.
Also if anyone is up for lending a hand with the organising that would be briliant - again @dundeemeetup or just say so on the night: we'll ask for volunteers during the intros so you know who to speak to.
Spread the word and look forward to a good night on Tuesday 30th!!
